What is world culture and how do you define it? The task is daunting, since there are so many elements comprising the phrase. The United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization, or UNESCO, makes a noble attempt to preserve it, at Heritage Sites around the globe.
But it's more than just the art, food, music and language. It's also:
But why stop there? We can go on and on, asking ourselves about world culture and how it differs or carries similarities from one civilization to the next, beyond the constraints of time and space.
We can't possibly define it all. But what we will attempt to do is give you the basics, to inspire you to visit a particular country, read a compelling work of fiction, or just relax into an unscheduled flight of fancy.
And if we happen to know any odds and ends that might help you on your physical or mental journey, we'll share those tidbits too.
Basically, we'll do our best to help you get along and keep you out of jail. And if any of you dear intrepid web surfers can share additional ideas and tips for travelers, you should post them on our Comments Board. (Please. . .no soliciting!)
