this stylish whirlwind tour of Colombo for you!

While mostly focused on modern fashion that fuses East and West, there are some nice old world, time traveling accents included as well. Enjoy!

Start at the HILTON COLOMBO , CFW 2012's host hotel.

Then, follow the numbers we've added to the Google map which correspond as closely as we can manage to reality!

1 - TRUNK is just down The Galle Road, as well as a step back in time--past the old Parliament Building, protected by cannons on the sea side, and the Galle Face Green and then inside the historic Galle Face Hotel.

2 - CANTELOUPE is just across the street at Galle Face Court.

3 - At the Cinnamon Grand Hotel you'll find another RAMANI FERNANDO SALON, if the one at the HILTON COLOMBO is booked.

In the adjoining Crescat Boulevard shopping center, check out HAMEEDIA, COLOMBO JEWELLERY STORES, and SPA CEYLON.

Exit out the "secret back way" behind Crescat, to travel around the edge of the Beira Lake to the beautiful temple on the water. Across the street, the Gangaramaya Temple's main structures await, full of relics from all time periods. Visit their resident elephant too!

4 - Park Street Mews is just around the corner, wherein the popular CFW designer, KT BROWN has her studio, and SPA CEYLON has their Ayurvedic Spa.

5 - COTTON COLLECTION's new super giant store is on the main street of Dharmapala Mawatha, more or less across from the park.

6 - ODEL involves passing the park and Town Hall, then a quick eye test at the roundabout. If you can see the red and yellow brick building, which houses the Eye Hospital, you've passed the test and probably don't need the hospital.

7 - 32 Ward Place houses the showroom of CFW success story, BUDDHI BATIKS, and upstairs you'll find the home of ARUGAM BAY, Sri Lanka's own beachwear, and also STRINGHOPPER and CONSCIENCE.

8 - ASHKII can be found by taking Wijerama Mawatha to Horton Place, and is just across from The Coffee Bean.

9 - AVIRATE is nearby, but the one-way street system may mean you get to take a little drive by Colombo's new Lotus Pond (Nelum Pokuna) theater complex and maybe even the majestic Independence Square, either before or afterward.

10 - MELACHE can be found by going down Bauddhaloka Mw. (AKA Bullers Road) to R. A. De Mel Mw. (AKA Duplication Road) and turning onto the street where the House of Fashion (where crazy deals can be found if you're willing to brave the crowds) sits.

11 - COLOMBO JEWELLERY STORES main showroom is a good reason to get back onto The Galle Road and stop at Barefoot for Sri Lanka's colorful homegrown handloom clothing and accessories, and then afterward, you MUST stop in at the Paradise Road Gallery Cafe. (A Spiral Whirled Travels favourite!)

Then make your way back to the Hilton via Marine Drive, so you can see the sea! It's fast and scenic. Win-win!
